UX Class Prompt:
Create a prototype that shows the primary user flow for an app that allows members of the NYU community to book one of the 12 swim lanes at the NYU Palladium pool at a specific time.
CURRENT INTERFACE/PROBLEM
Currently, students have to create a new account on a third party website IMLeagues in order to reserve a lane at the NYU Palladium pool. At this time, NYU does not have an internal platform for students to easily and efficiently access reservations.
PRIMARY RESEARCH
Short survey sent to 50 students who frequently use/reserve pool lanes at the NYU Palladium Natatorium:
1. How would you rate the ease of finding the website for Palladium pool reservations on a scale of 1-5?
2. How would you rate the ease of reserving a pool lane at NYU Palladium on a scale of 1-5.
3. Would you find it more convenient if there was a Palladium app to access pool reservations?
SUMMARY
Through primary research, it can be concluded that frequent users of the NYU Palladium pool find the current interface relatively inconvenient to access/use. There could be a more efficient and intuitive platform to easily login and reserve a lane.
THE SOLUTION
Create an NYU Palladium Swim app for students to easily access pool lane bookings. Students can login using their existing NYU usernames and passwords rather than creating a new account all together.

FUTURE IMPLEMENTATIONS
Rather than solely for pool lane reservations, the app could be extended to reserve gym equipment or any other facility within NYU Palladium. The app can be used as a centralized platform for any NYU facility reservation.
